How to Visit/Rush the Squadron
While rushing is not required, we highly encourage all applicants to visit the squadron. This allows us to have the opportunity to get to know you above and beyond what is written on paper. Please contact Major John Borsenberger by email to coordinate. At the 109th AS we are not simply hiring C130 Co-Pilots, we are hiring future Aircraft Commanders and Instructor/Evaluator Pilots. We need candidates that will successfully complete UPT and C130J initial training then return to the squadron with the dedication and drive to be a strong asset to our squadron. Additionally, applicants will be flying, working, socializing and deploying for multiple months at a time with the squadron for the next 10-20+ years. Because of that, all interactions with the squadron are fair game for the application process. We simply want to get to know who you are. Moral of the story, just be yourself!
As of 14 APR 26, the 109th is currently assessing its desire to hire UPT candidates this calendar year. Expect the application window to open in the next two months with interviews projected for October 2026.
